(RGJ)- Choco Tacos, M&Ms, licorice and Chobani Greek Yogurt are just a few of the food items officials for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management are demanding Burning Man organizers provide them at this year's festival, according to documents obtained by the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Those demands by the BLM, unprecedented in Burning Man's history, have turned into a point of contention as organizers negotiate with the agency for their annual permit to stage the event in the Black Rock Desert this summer.Burning Man officials have pushed back against the BLM, saying the demands are excessive and that they cannot meet all of them."BLM is not significantly increasing its staffing this year and it appears to (Black Rock City) that some of these additional requests are above and beyond what is needed under regulatory requirements for BLM to administer to permit," Burning Man wrote in a response to the BLM requests obtained by the RGJ.
