Booths withdrew 350g Whole Hearted Roasted Monkey Nuts because the packet did not state that the product was unsuitable for those with nut allergies.

The Food Standards Agency has issued an allergy alert as the nuts could pose a health risk.

Yesterday local shoppers in Lancashire blasted the lack of common sense involved.
