After years of evolution, Obama thinks gay marriage is fabulous!

President Obama has admitted he supports gay marriage. His previous position was a thinly veiled sham. Everyone knew where he really stood on this issue, but few thought he would tell the truth before the election. This is a sign Obama knows he is going to lose this November. He doesn't think he has anything to lose at this point.

Via FOX News:
President Obama on Wednesday endorsed same-sex marriages, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to take that position following days of speculation about his "evolving" stance on the issue.

The president used a hastily called TV interview to make his position clear.

"At a certain point, I've just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married," Obama told ABC News.

The president, who was previously opposed to the unions, explained that he's gone through an "evolution." Obama said he initially thought civil unions would suffice as a vehicle to give same-sex couples the rights commensurate with those of heterosexual couples. "I'd hesitated on gay marriage in part because I thought civil unions would be sufficient," he said.

  1. Hey All,

Obama coming out today FOR gay marriage when the bulk of the Country is passing Amendment after Amendment supporting that marriage is between a man and a woman, seems a bit strange, but I believe there is a reason for it.

I believe that the turnout this year will be historic lows because the Republicans are not putting out an “exciting” candidate.

Because of this, Obama is trying to motivate gays to vote.

    It may just work.

I understand the lack of excitement about Romney. He is about as unexciting as it gets, but there is no way Conservatives will fail to turn out against Obama. With four more years and 2 or 3 more SCOTUS picks, we will be living in a European social democracy.

Thanks for replying to my comment.

I will respond to you with this:

I believe that the Republican Party has proven itself to be "in" on Obama's eligiblity, the Fast and Furious debacle, the "stimulus" fiasco, States trying to enforce NATIONAL immigration laws, the continuing extension of unemployment benefits, raising the debt limit, the confirming of two ULTRA liberal SC Justices and any number of other things that Obama has presented.

But the best the Republicans can do is Mitt Romney? That's the best the "conservatives" have?

Well, BGP, I for one will NEVER vote for Romney, simply because of the way he GOVERNS.

Oh I'll vote, but it will be for the BEST person, in my mind, for the job.

It won't be a vote for Obama either, no matter how many people try to convince me that a vote for someone other than Romney is a vote FOR Obama, I can NOT in good conscience vote for Romney.

I held my nose and voted for McCain in 2008 because I went to Obama's site and looked at his stance on the issues, and his "vision" for America, and I KNEW what he was going to propose. His site was honest, his "stump" speech was DIShonest, and I didn't want Obama as President.

The truth is I believe Romney will be Obama "lite".
