Occupy Fort Collins protester arrested for allegedly setting $10 million fire

I don't remember a similar story relating to the Tea Party. Perhaps a liberal can help me out.
Police have arrested an Occupy Fort Collins protester in connection with a $10 million arson fire that damaged dozens of condominiums and businesses in Fort Collins.

Benjamin David Gilmore, 29, was arrested on Thursday night on suspicion of arson, burglary and criminal mischief.

On Oct. 24, a fire started at 3:30 a.m. in a four-story apartment complex under construction. The fire spread to the occupied Penny Flats condominium and retail building next door.

The fire at Penny Flats caused heavy fire damage to the fourth floor and roof, and heavy smoke and water damage to the first, second and third floors, according to Poudre Fire Authority spokesman Patrick Love.

Damage was estimated at $10 million.

  1. What about the the time the tea party started telling everyone that certain people should be shot, and then one of your crazy tea party supports attacks a JUDGE, a CONGRESSWOMAN and a CHILD?

How quickly you forget that the Tea Party was responsible for the Giffords shooting.

  2. We could point out that in no speach, publication, or video did any Tea Party member ever suggest anyone should be shot, or that Jared Laughtner had a history of mental issues before he shot those people, or that politically Mr Laughtner was very much a leftist and there is no evidence that he ever took part in any Tea Party event.

But why should we bother bringing facts to a discussion where Mr Anonymous is hell bent on doing the EXACT SAME THING they are accusing the Tea Party of doing that supposedly lead to a mass shooting?

  5. Ok, an someone who is involved with Occupy Fort Collins carried out a reprehensible crime. I think it is somewhat unfair to tie this to the entire Occupy movement. I also think the title of the article is somewhat misleading. It labels the person as an "Occupy Protester" but doesn't connect the crime with the Occupy movement.

People involved with the Tea Party have also committed heinous crimes - does this also condemn the entire Tea Party?

    Think about it.
