Columnist Richard Glover with the Sydney Morning Herald makes several wrong assumptions. There are no climate change deniers. Everyone knows climates change. That is what climates do. Nobody is questioning the Earth is a little warmer in the last 150 years. Around 1850 we left a period of abnormal cooling inappropriately named the "little ice age." What he really means to say is anthropogenic global warming doubters. What many sane people are questioning is twofold:
1. Is CO2 really a major greenhouse gas? Doesn't the effect of water vapor and solar radiation have a much larger effect on the climate and temperature than manmade CO2?
2. Is anything really abnormal taking place regarding the temperature? The climate models that predicted exponential CO2 forced warming have proven to be wrong. The temperature is leveling out, not exponentially increasing. Plus, it was about this warm a few hundred years ago during the medieval warming period that Dr. Mann so famously "smoothed" out of his infamous hockey stick graph.
Climate change has taken on a cult-like status. The basic precepts can not be challenged or re-examined or you are a bonehead. Perhaps, climate change believers should get a special cult tattoo.
(SMH)- Surely it's time for climate-change deniers to have their opinions forcibly tattooed on their bodies.
Not necessarily on the forehead; I'm a reasonable man. Just something along their arm or across their chest so their grandchildren could say, ''Really? You were one of the ones who tried to stop the world doing something? And why exactly was that, granddad?''
On second thoughts, maybe the tattooing along the arm is a bit Nazi-creepy.
"...climate change deniers should be tattoed..." someone should look into Richard Glover's past to see if there in fact is a Nazi connection somewhere-- what a "Nazi" comment!
ReplyDeleteAnd you just try that on me, mister-- you won't even get close enough before I tattoo your behind with a 12 gauge shot pattern!
Isn't CO2 what people and animals exhale?
