Run Rudy Run?

The Full Rudy: The Man, the Myth, the Mania

A CNN/Opinion Research puts Rudy Giuliani in a tree way tie for the GOP 2012 presidential nomination.
(The Hill) – Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (R) could have a significant impact on the Republican primary field if he chooses to run, a poll released Friday showed.

CNN/Opinion Research survey showed Giuliani, who ran a failed presidential campaign in 2008, statistically tied with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) in a hypothetical match-up. Giuliani received 16 percent support from Republicans, Romney got 15 percent and Palin received 13 percent.

The poll can be seen as a testament to the unsettled nature of the Republican field of candidates looking to unseat President Obama in 2012.

  1. It is hard to see how Giuliani will have any impact on the race at all if he runs. He led in the polls in 2008, yet got little or no support. Why would it be any different this time? GOP voters love Giuliani--they just don't want to see him as president.
