We now know that 30 minutes of the raid was blacked out for some reason. It is probably just as well for the group in this picture. A quick look at the body language of the the people in the picture indicates killing Osama bin Laden wasn't a popular decision with team Obama. It appears 5 people are displaying negative body language by crossing their arms in front of their bodies. The woman in the lower right quadrant has her hand over her mouth as if she is shocked.
(Telegraph)- A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.
Mr Panetta said: “Once those teams went into the compound I can tell you that there was a time period of almost 20 or 25 minutes where we really didn’t know just exactly what was going on. And there were some very tense moments as we were waiting for information.
“We had some observation of the approach there, but we did not have direct flow of information as to the actual conduct of the operation itself as they were going through the compound.”
Mr Panetta also revealed that the US Navy Seals made the final decision to kill bin Laden rather than the president.
The 'woman' in the lower right is Hillary Clinton.
ReplyDeleteHey All,
ReplyDeleteHere's my take on this photo.
I don't know who the man in the military uniform is (maybe the Joint Chief?), but he's the ONLY one who looks "engaged".
ALL of the others have that "deer in the headlights" look.
To me this shows who the "leader" is in this room.
Could they be thanking G-d that they aren't there??
