Will Obama's Angry Base Close Their Wallets?

If this Survey USA/WaPo poll is any indication, they might. 74% of contributors to Obama’s presidential campaign are "deeply opposed" to President Obama's tax deal with Republicans.

The poll shows clearly that these contributors are deeply opposed (74%) to a deal with Republicans to extend the Bush-era tax breaks for those making over $250,000 a year. The depth of opposition to a deal is severe with former Obama contributors saying that they are less likely (57%) to support Democrats who support this deal in 2012.

A majority of the former Obama contributors surveyed also say that the President’s deal also makes them less likely (51%) to contribute to his reelection campaign in 2012.

Can you say "one termer?" Liberals are insanely angry.

  2. The final effect of these tax cuts may be detrimental in relation to the economy and then President Obama won't need these contributors any more.

  3. I am one of these people. I am angry, but this is not the sole reason. This is the final straw. There are still two wars going on, and his decisions and actions have been much too focused on the Republican response. The world, because of his color I believe, wanted a Martin Luther King. Instead it got a right leaning centrist. I'm out.
