Only 21% of Likely U.S. Voters want the government to control the Internet like they do other broadcast media. Looks like Team Obama has picked another loser with their “net neutrality” regulations.
(Rasmussen)- American voters believe free market competition will protect Internet users more than government regulation and fear that regulation will be used to push a political agenda.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 21% of Likely U.S. Voters want the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to regulate the Internet as it does radio and television. Fifty-four percent (54%) are opposed to such regulation, and 25% are not sure.
The survey was conducted shortly after the FCC decided on a party line vote to impose so-called “net neutrality” regulations on the Internet world.

If there really was a free market, this would be a reasonable position. However, the last mile is a monopoly in the vast majority of markets - thus, the providers such as Comcast, Cox Verizon, etc. will be able to control what gets through.
The "Net Neutrality" rules that the FCC have approved are filled with so many loopholes that they are effectively neutered even before the obvious court challenges. Big business got what they wanted and now are going for the final kill of any regulation. Opinions not in favor by these last mile providers are going to be "traffic shaped into the ether.
