Gloria Allred has been leading the charge against Meg Whitman over charges Whitman knew her housekeeper was an illegal immigrant. Many have claimed Allred's motivation is political. We know know Allred is a longtime Brown supporter.
Turns out Gloria Allred worked on Jerry Brown's fist campaign for governor in 1974. An article printed in the American Bar Association Journal in June 1985 talks about Allred's work on Brown's campaign.

That’s our society. Politicians, judges, and other prominent officials wail against illegal immigration, then get caught employing them because they want cheap labor.
Everyone wants cheap labor, but god forbid any illegal immigrants get hired ! I don’t buy the ‘we were duped’ defense.
I think Whitman knew and/or just didn’t care until she began her campaign and figured out she had a problem that would hurt her. Whitman isn’t the first and won’t be the last to end up like this…

She must bark at every car that drives by her house. Where does the housekeeper get the money to hire Redneck, or is Gloria doing it pro-Brown-o? Now that the housekeeper has confessed to these crimes, I assume that our state Atty General Jerry Brown will file charges against her momentarily. Fat chance!

Griff Harsh, the husband of California gubernatorial candidate Nutneg Whitman, acknowledged in a statement on Thursday that “it is possible” he received and wrote notes on a letter from the Social Security Administration back in 2003, regarding the former housekeeper. The Whitman/ Harsh household then fired their housekeeper in June 2009 (after nine years of service), when Nutmeg handlers decided that she was an election liability.
Meg, Meg, Meg, where do I start, you have reportedly spent $140 million of your own money to get elected Governor but you couldn’t use some of it to get your housekeeper (after nine years of service) some legal help to get her papers, and worse you lied about it. Wow, what a WITCH, of course I meant it with a “B”.

Meg you think you can buy the election, but what puzzles many is if you real cared and loved California then why not do your civic duty and vote, seems more rhetoric than anything else.

Ebay paid out $200,000 because Nutmeg assaulted an employee, so it’s not the first time she has mistreated an employee. Good luck winning Nutmeg, money will buy you admiration from the majority just from the Gay Old Party (GOP), but not from all of California.
Whitman is prototypical rich Republican politician material, all right. Besides dishonesty and hypocrisy, what, exactly, qualifies her to be governor?
Oh, business experience! As if California state government is supposed to be a profit-making operation. As if a bean counter devoted to increasing sharholder value and perpetually pumping up the bottom line is the most important thing to the citizenry. Well, maybe the citizenry of Orange County. Elsewhere, people have kids who need educating, some of them kids with special needs, and not all those parents can begin to afford upscale private care facilities and such.
Once upon a time I thought Jerry Brown was a bit too eccentric. I think he matured and I know I have. I’ve seen him speak a few times over the years and read a couple of pieces by him. I think he’s got good values and instincts and a lot to offer. I hope Californians are smart enough to choose him over Whitman. If she wants someplace to run, maybe she could buy an island somewhere and set up a Republican republic. Who knows, with any luck jugheads like Rick Perry, Mark Sanford and some others would emigrate to it.
