"When times are tough, you tighten your belts," Obama said while giving a speech at a New Hampshire high school Tuesday.
"You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage," he said. "You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices."
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman had this harsh response:
"He didn't learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn't think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I'll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there....
Here is a video of Mayor Goodman's response from KTNV TV 13:

I honestly didn't see anything wrong with that statement the President gave. I know people will take what he said as NO ONE should go and spend money in Las Vegas but if you are trying to get a college degree then obviously it wouldn't be wise to gamble it away.
As for not being welcomed in Las Vegas, I bet he will be there to campaign for Reid's re-election. I hope he does because it didn't help Coakley or Corzine.

The interesting part of the story was Las Vegas' Mayor's response. I hope he campaigns for Reid too. He may be the only person less popular in Nevada ATM.
