Progressives are upset over a FOX News poll that asks people if they think Obama is still sneaking smokes in the White House. The question was included in a broader Opinion Dynamics poll about politics. About a third of the respondents thought he was still smoking. The number was evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats. I am not sure why liberals and progressives are objecting to this poll. You can read some of their comments here, but be aware some are offensive.
Here is the poll question and results.

I don't see it as offensive, but is it constructive? I think the man is most likely still smoking and hiding it in an effort to avoid being a bad role model, which seems respectable enough to me.
Shall we put up a poll asking whether people think the Palin family is currently using birth control?
Asking about birth control would be very inappropriate. Smoking is a different matter, especially since he has publicly said he quit, raised taxes on tobacco products and joined the anti smoking crowd by supporting FDA regulation of tobacco.
She is a Governor and member of Feminists for Life, which discourages abortion by addressing "the root causes that drive women to abortion—primarily lack of practical resources and support."
She has opposed funding sex education programs, and the distribution of contraceptves in schools. She has also made claims as to which birth control methods she would and wouldn't use.
I don't see any lack of parallel.
