Senate Democratic leaders concede they lack the votes to pass the "Porkulus" bill in the Senate. They are considering trimming the bacon explosion of pork from the stimulus bill in an attempt to gain bipartisan support. Hopefully, this bill can be trimmed down to 500 billion in items that will stimulate the economy in the next twelve months. I believe most Americans agree we need a stimulus bill. They just don't want every possible special interest project crammed into it. They have come to realize most of the current bill has nothing to do with stimulating the economy. That is why support for this bill has dropped to 37% according to a rasmussenreports.com poll.
